International microsystems industry showed great market potential for higher productivity in industrial automation

May 21, 2013
The joint pavilion organized by the IVAM Microtechnology Network was present again in the scope of the Industrial Automation show at the HANNOVER MESSE. About 20 companies and institutes from all over the world showcased innovative microsystems solutions for more efficient and more flexible production practices. “The IVAM Product Market at HANNOVER MESSE is the place to meet for our members from abroad. 50% of the exhibiting companies do not come from Germany and approx. 25 % of them come from Asia to exhibit in Hanover“, reports Inga Goltermann, Membership Relations Manager of IVAM.

This year, especially the industry forum “MicroTechnology – Innovations for Industry“ caused great interest. The forum deepened the main topics of the special exhibition area through presentations from research and industry. Altogether, more than 1300 visitors came to hear the international presentations about micro and nano applications in industrial processes. The sessions about trend topics like printed electronics, systems integration or energy harvesting as well as sessions on established thematic fields like nanotechnology or laser applications were particularly popular.

The organizers of the HANNOVER MESSE reported 225,000 visitors. According to Deutsche Messe every fourth came from abroad – most of them from the European Union (50 percent) and from South, East and Central Asia (20 percent).
