Product quality and speed: AEMtec invests more in modern technologies

Jun 17, 2015
In order to satisfy the demands of increasingly small electrical components and higher quality standards, AEMtec is investing in its own production again.

In April, AEMtec expanded its own technology platform again. The acquired x-ray inspection system XT V 160 from Nikon takes the increasing need for quality assurance into account. The XT V 160 is equipped with 1 µm point focus, 160kV/20W micro focus x-ray tube and a detector measuring 130 x 130 mm with 1,000 x 1,000 pixels. It offers up enlargement to 2,400 times, thus enabling the development team to depict the smallest of details. The development times of complex products can thus be shortened despite continually increasing customer demands and the development process can be optimized.

As part of a replacement investment, AEMtec has also invested in a scalable mounting platform NXT III from Fuji as well as a new stencil printer from EKRA (SERIO 4000 Compact) and an SMT Quattro Peak M N₂ reflow soldering system. The NXT III is a mounting machine with modular structure and heads that enable a simple exchange of heads for construction elements of different sizes to be mounted. The automatic correction technology and image capture and processing ensure high system accuracy. AEMtec customers profit from quicker cycle times and thus reduced parts costs as well as a process setup reduced to a minimum by intelligent, fully automatic feeder units. Fuji’s NXT III is the winner of the 6th Robot Awards, a competition organised by the Japanese Ministry for Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the “Japan Machinery Federation”.
