Communication networks, intelligent environments, flexibility and user orientation are major requirements of modern technical solutions both in the working environment and in private households. Micro- and nanotechnologies contribute a lot to ensuring that products and processes meet these requirements.
The 11
th MST Regional Conference NRW, which takes place from June 24-25, 2014 in Dortmund, addresses applications of micro- and nanotechnologies in the smart home and in smart production as well as advanced production technology for microsystems.
Smart production processes stand out by a high degree of automation, virtual simulation processes and innovative principles of production, handling and installation. This enables a strong process integration and an acceleration of production processes for complex miniaturized systems.
In the
smart home everyday processes like heating, air conditioning or lighting are controlled and automated by intelligent interaction of high-tech components and communication technology. This does not only enhance the comfort and safety of the residents but helps reduce the consumption of energy and supplies.
The MST Regional Conference will be held for the 11
th time in Dortmund in 2014. It has established itself as a platform for manufacturers and users of advanced technologies. The annual conference is jointly organized and hosted by dortmund-project, the MST.factory dortmund and the IVAM Microtechnology Network.
