Surfix Diagnostics works on a new biosensor technology, the photonic biosensor. This technology enables sensitive and quantitative detection of various biomarkers. Surfix's photonic diagnostics platform can be utilized in the human medical field, but also in many other fields, like agri-food, environmental monitoring, or any other application area.
The Surfix photonic biosensor combines the photonic biochip, in which the actual signal is measured, with a microfluidic cartridge, in which the biological assay takes place in a small sample volume.
Both the photonic biochip and the microfluidic cartridge benefit from unique nanocoatings, which enhance the sensitivity of the sensor and the flow of the sample, and reduce unwanted binding of biomolecules.
The signal read-out of the photonic biosensor will be performed with a desktop reader.
