DECHEMA e.V.

DECHEMA Gesellschaft für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie e.V. (Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology) brings together experts from a wide range of disciplines, institutions and generations to stimulate scientific exchange in chemical engineering, process engineering and biotechnology. We identify and evaluate emerging technological trends and facilitate the transfer of research results into industrial applications.DECHEMA is the hub of an interdisciplinary network of topic-oriented committees, organizing events and professional development courses for all who are interested in a specialized subject area. DECHEMA has over 5,800 members - individuals, institutions and companies. The Biotechnology Section and ProcessNet, the joint platform for chemical engineering, are the forums where scientists, engineers, students, companies and institutions meet for knowledge exchange and discussion.In addition, we administer funding programmes as well as national and European research clusters.As a member of AiF we organize industrial cooperative research projects. Together with DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH we are the organizers of ACHEMA, the world forum for the process industry.We work closely with DECHEMA-Forschungsinstitut, which is dedicated to research for sustainable technologies in the fields of biotechnology, materials and chemical engineering.The ProcessNet Working Party Microreaction Engineering deals with the theory and practice of microprocessing components. It sees its role as that of a specialist forum for the discussion of R&D results, the exchange of ideas and experience, continuing education as well as the professional development of young scientists. There are close points of intersection to process intensification and to chemical process engineering and thus to the Sections Chemical Reaction Engineering and Process, Apparatus and Plant Engineering, to the Subject Division Process Intensification and the German industrial platform for microprocess engineering.Key activities:* Fundamentals of microstructured apparatus and their production* Characteristics with chemical conversions in microstructured apparatus* Application of microprocess engineering components

Databases and Publications* DETHERMThe numerical database DETHERM provides thermophysical property data, which are indispensable for construction and design of chemical apparatus, plants and processes.* CHEMSAFEThe numerical database Chemsafe contains assessed safety parameters and properties for more than 3000 flammable liquids, gases and dusts.* Data Preparation PackageThe Data Preparation Package (DPP) is a software package for the regression of thermophysical property models. Using a plugin interface any kind of thermodynamic model could be used for the calculation of thermophysical properties.* IK-CAPE THERMOThe IK-CAPE Thermodynamics-Module allows the calculation of thermodynamic properties. In addition to calculation of the properties it is also possible to calculate the analytical derivatives of these properties.* DECHEMA Corrosion HandbookThe prime information source worldwide for the selection of materials for equipment in which corrosive media are handled or processed.
