NanoMat, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)

NanoMat, located with its managing office at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), was founded in 1997 as one of the first nano competence centers in Germany. Comprised of partners from industry and academia, it acts as a virtual enterprise to foster and execute application-oriented R&D projects.
We organize dedicated symposia on key topics in nanotechnology, with equal contributions from experts in industry and academia. Our network contributes to an active political dialogue on nanotechnology and nanomaterials.
NanoMat focuses on key topics in:

  •    Printed materials and systems
  •    Nanoelectronics and optics
  •    New materials for the automotive industry and energy sector
  •    Graphene applications
  •    High resolution microscopy (e.g. AFM, TEM)
  •    Environmental aspects and risk assessment of nanomaterials and   nanotechnologies
