Fries Research & Technology (FRT) has recently introduced the new budget “Economy Class” of surface measurement tools. First instrument in this class is the MicroSpy Topo. The engineers left out extra features such as multi-sensor configurations or part handling and concentrated on one selected measuring principle.

The MicroSpy Topo measures 3D topography, structure, and surface roughness in fields like MEMS, optics, electronics, plastics, and paper. Due to its confocal measurement principle the MicroSpy Topo delivers results with a resolution of down to one nanometer within seconds. The microscope is available with a variety of objectives and comes with a motorized x,y-stage and a software package.
