In order to enable safe and easy welding of small metallic micro components, arteos GmbH developed the laser micro welding unit TOLAS 1. Advantages are the small thermal stress for the components and the welding of joining geometries < 100 µm. This is made possible by the small laser spot weld of 10 to 50 µm and by the finely adjustable laser power.

Areas of application are, for example, electronics, precision mechanics, electrical engineering, medical technology, and sensor manufacturing. Here, among other things, thin foils, finest construction units or wires can be welded without a lot of previous knowledge. Point as well as continuous welding is possible.

Optionally the equipment is applicable for boring, cutting and structuring. The pulsed ND:YAG laser has a maximum output of 5 W and a pulse energy from 2 to 500 mJ. An extensive accessory program is available for different applications like grippers, supply systems and customized structures.
