Wafer Universe: Plan Optik launches brand for off-the-shelf products

In order to serve the high demand of wafers with fixed specifications more quickly, Plan Optik AG has founded a new brand called “Wafer Universe”, to provide stock products.

Separating business areas of stock products and customized wafers

Wafer Universe is handling the range of wafers available off-the-shelf with immediate effect. Separating the two business areas of stock products and Plan Optik’s main business of customized wafers enables the company to meet the increasing demand for wafers from glass and quartz more quickly.

Wafer Universe reduces response and processing times, so customers can order a huge variety of high-quality products simple and fast. Orders will typically be shipped within 48 hours - depending on order time, country of delivery and availability.

Borosilicate glass, alkali-free glass and quartz glass wafers

The new brand offers a wide selection of wafers of various sizes and materials, including borosilicate glass, alkali-free glass and quartz glass. Borosilicate wafers are available with either standard polishing or Micro Damaging Free (MDF) polishing grade, resulting in a significant improvement in surface quality with a possible yield enhancement up to 99 percent. The wafers are available in diameters from 100 mm to 300 mm and thicknesses from 300 μm to 1000 μm. All wafers are manufactured in Germany, cleanroom-packed and ready to use. The minimum order quantity is only 10 pieces.
