Zoom Meeting

The synergistic integration of microfluidics and photonics opens up fascinating opportunities for miniaturization, automation and innovation in a wide range of applications. Photonic and optical technologies play a crucial role in detection and readout, enabling precise and efficient processes. The combination of photonics and microfluidics enables the development of more compact, robust and powerful microfluidic systems that can serve a wide range of applications.

What advantages does the combination of photonics and microfluidics offer for the development of innovative systems?

At the next digital meeting of the IVAM Microfluidics Focus Group, we therefore want to discuss the topic „Microfluidics Meets Photonics - Focus on Biotechnology“. The meeting will take place digitally on Wednesday, April 24 2024, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. (CEST).

Speakers from Opto and CSEM

You can look forward to the following experts:

  • Markus Riedi, Opto: AI-ready imaging modules for biomedical and life sciences applications
  • Dr. Siegfried Graf, CSEM: Challenges and Solutions of Photonic Chip Integrations into Micro-Fluidic Cartridges for Biotechnology
  • Prof. Paul Hartmann, Joanneum: Roll-to-roll fabricated microfluidic chips for COVID-19 serology testing

The presentations provide a basis for discussions on the topic of Microfluidics meets Photonics in Biotechnology and provide the basis for a subsequent discussion.

In the second part of the meeting, the further activities of the Focus Group will be coordinated.
