Innovative plain bearings - a precise alternative for air bearing stages

Typically, linear plain bearings are used for rather simple positioning applications. Now, the new Feinmess linear stage LTG250 offers plain bearings also for sophisticated high-precision tasks. The existing solution with an optimized preload reaches outstanding parameters in straightness and flatness, normally only achievable by air bearing stages. Whereas the price of the stage is considerably below that of an air bearing system.

Despite a lubricant-free operation, an emission of particles can be avoided by the usage of special plastics. This enables the usage in clean room environments or in high vacuum. A further advantage is the damping characteristic of the guiding elements that avoid the negative impact especially on measuring instruments. With a very good price/performance ratio, new application areas in metrology and medical technology can be tapped. In high vacuum, the new LTG250 provides a cost-effective alternative to established systems. The LTG250 is also available as XY-system.

Feinmess is part of the international Steinmeyer group. The family-owned enterprise with more than 400 employees is leading in the design and development of ball screws for a broad range of applications.
