A great end to the year in the world of medical technology – The COMPAMED exhibition gave the gift of turnover this year

Nov 27, 2009
The exhibitors of COMPAMED went home very satisfied again this year. The medical-technology exhibition that took place a few weeks ago provided the 36 exhibitors of the IVAM joint pavilion with both guests and turnover. “Even now, after the exhibition we are receiving contact from companies that became aware of us at the COMPAMED” said Dr. Ulrike Michelsen from Bartels Mikrotechik in Dortmund. Exhibitors from Switzerland, Austria, Great Britain, the USA and Germany showed the newest revelations in the medical technology field including micro pumps for diagnosis, pulse sensors in the inner ear, and intelligent water repellent coating. The companies SPECIALTY COATING SYSTEMS (www.scscoatings.com) from the USA, alpha-board GmbH (www.alpha-board.de), IMT Masken und Teilungen AG (www.imtag.ch) and Micreon GmbH (www.micreon.de) were so impressed with the exhibition that they have already registered for the next COMPAMED from November 17th to 19th, in 2010. During the exhibition a Japanese delegation of 30 informed themselves about medical technology in Europe. This is a sign that medical technology that is “made in Germany” is demanded throughout the entire world. The main themes of the exhibition were “quality assurance” and “electronic manufacturing services”, of which were thoroughly discussed during the “Hightech for Medical Devices” forum. Many exhibitors from both themes exhibited at the IVAM- joint pavilion. “For many companies it was a great end to the year with many promising business prospects” said Dr. Uwe Kleinkes, the CEO of IVAM. He went on to say that “There is demand for production possibilities within the medical technology industry. The demographic change specifically calls for assistance systems which can be used to assemble micro-sensors.”
