The annual expert meeting "LaserForum", initiated by the IVAM Microtechnology Network, will take place on October 15, 2019 at TRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik in Ditzingen, Germany, on the topic "Smart Lasers for Intelligent Production".

Advantages compared to conventional systems

Laser processes are ideally suited for digitalized and individualized production. They are often simpler and faster than conventional, mechanical manufacturing processes and, especially for very individual products, better than parallel etching processes or molding processes that have been developed for a large number of identical products.

The presentations at the LaserForum 19 will deal with topics such as 3D printing on the moon, laser structuring in liquids or printed electronics.

Three sessions will focus on technologies for smart lasers, intelligent laser production systems and laser applications in the field of microtechnology and microelectronics. During the event, there will be the opportunity to visit the laser production at TRUMPF.

"Smart" laser processes are particularly interesting for medium-sized companies.

The event is directed to manufacturers of optical or electronic components and laser systems, to users of laser systems for production or measuring processes as well as to manufacturers or users of material processing systems who are interested in decentralized, individualized, automated production methods.

The LaserForum event series comprehensively presents selected questions and trends regarding the use of laser technology in various application sectors once a year. Partners of the event are the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. and the Chair of Laser Application Technology (LAT) at Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) as well as the host TRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH.
