TTP Ventus releases technical guidance for novel air displacement pipetting concept

TTP Ventus has released new technical guidance outlining advances made in its novel air displacement pipetting concept. This new approach enables the development of pipetting systems that are smaller, lighter & lower cost than the competition. 

The Volume Control Module

The new system, called ‘The Volume Control Module’ (VCM), can help deliver high-precision fluidic dosing in pipetting systems, and also has applications in microfluidics. Using Disc Pump, the TTP Ventus R&D team were able to demonstrate CVs of less than 1% over a wide dispense range, from ~15µL to ~400µL.  Higher and lower volumes are possible with changes to the system configuration. 

New: TTP Ventus Blog

The company has published technical guidance in the first post of the newly-launched TTP Ventus Blog, entitled: Pipetting with Disc Pump: Key Learnings. The blog outlines the key design considerations that will impact pipetting performance and includes an Application Note: ‘AN049 Pipetting with Disc Pump’ that provides a detailed technical overview of the system, together with design guidance for customers interested in building their own systems.
