IVAM Executive Panel, June 2011: Efficiency is immanent to microtechnology production

Jun 28, 2011

In Germany , 18 percent of microtechnology companies would be able to counterbalance rising power costs by producing more efficiently. 55 percent say they might be able to save power in production but would have to cut back in other areas in order to completely compensate for increasing power costs. Nevertheless, the companies are willing to convert to more power-saving production methods where it is possible and affordable. But their intention to save energy is not primarily triggered by the impending rise of energy rates. Efficiency is immanent to microtechnology production. Microtechnology does not only keep energy costs low; the very low consumption of materials and supplies leads to sustainable production, too.

The IVAM Executive Panel is a group of selected experts and opinion leaders from industry and science.
